Garden snails have thousands of microscopic, razor-sharp teeth used for scraping or cutting food like plant matter, algae, and fungus. The teeth are arranged in a ribbon-like formation, forming their tongue otherwise known as the radula. The radula has rows with about 100 teeth on each. These teeth are not large enough to bite or cause injury.
